ABOUT

Hi there. I'm Stephanie Flynn, designer of Stephine and Stephine+Mattie. I started Stephine Design Studio in 2009 out of my love of sewing, fabrics and handbags. I create fun, fashionable and functional pieces that marry sophistication and whimsy. I want every piece to feel special, so I take great pride in the details. I hope you love them as much as I do.

The story of STEPHINE (No, it's not a typo).

When my beautiful niece Mattie was young she could not pronounce Stephanie; instead I was Stephine. I loved 'Stephine' to the point that I panicked when she first pronounced Stephanie perfectly and set about trying to redirect her to Stephine (it didn't work, she's too smart for that!). While struggling with deciding what to call my brand a friend suggested, "How about Stephine?" Perfect! (Why didn't I think of that, thanks Penny!) And soon after came Stephine+Mattie, which needs no explanation.
